Update Summer 2024...

It makes me sad to announce that our 150+yr old Maple tree, which was a huge attraction at the farm due to her overwhelming size and age, came down in one of the summer storms that hit the farm. It felt like we had lost part of the family.  She not only provided shade from the southern sun exposure... but hiding places when the kids were young, tree sap for homemade syrup, and wood for the many bonfires and chilly nights we needed to add some supplemental heat with the wood burning stove.  The wood we've harvested will provide even more heat during the winters to come and many nights of bonfires to enjoy!  She will be missed tho...

General Farm Maintenance

Looking for someone to help maintain fences, buildings, paths and weed whipping.

Starting a “Pick Your Own” berry farm was an idea we had when we first moved out to Jo Daviess County over 22 years ago.  But… Life got busy.  Kids got older and time passed way too quickly.  Finally, back in July 2013, the decision was made to move forward with our berry adventure!  Pasture fences were taken down, ground tilled and our new endeavor began.  It’s been years of long days, planning (and revising those plans), dirt, compost, planting and absolute exhaustion!  But, it’s been worth every tiring moment.

This idea grew from just opening as a berry farm into berries, vegetables, flowers, fresh herbs and a small farm shop!  It is meant to be so much more, though, than just a place to get some vegetables and berries.  We are striving to create a place where people can visit, not to just get fresh naturally grown produce, but a place to pause for a moment, take in the views, and maybe find a sense of peace, even if only for a few minutes in the hectic days we all call life!  We honestly couldn’t wait to finally open the farm gates and share the gardens, berry patches and beautiful views with everyone.

This new venture is a work in progress however, and since we are a working farm, we hope you can understand that it's not always picture perfect here.  As much as we try to keep up with things... weeds do grow, the wind blows things about, and the rains produce mud... lots of mud!  (We do try to stay on Mother Nature's "good side", but so far our request for 70-75 degrees and sunny with a light breeze has only been granted on occasion).  We sincerely hope you will take some time to visit us here at the farm.  New friends are something we always look forward to!  And yes...you read that right... we consider each visitor to be a friend... not just another customer.

Thanks for visiting our website.  We look forward to you coming out to the farm!  Till then... Wishing Health and Happiness to you all!
