In our never ending search for alternative growing methods and ways to get a jump on the upcoming seasons... we came across a greenhouse for sale back in 2021.  Seeing that it was February... our first thought was maybe they would be willing to rent us some space so we could get some crops started... our seeds planted... and get things going earlier than normal.  While sitting in the greenhouse driveway, on a quiet corner in Galena,IL... we reached out to the realtor and made an inquiry!  She told us to stay put... she was on her way!!  As  I walked thru the facilities... I could just SEE all the possibilities of what "could be"!!  My mind was racing!!  The owners were determined to sell and not really interested in renting, and I thought that this opportunity was just going to pass us by.  The days that followed... I could not stop thinking about this greenhouse!!  I felt overwhelmingly drawn to it!  After discussing it with a number of people... many suggestions being made... I took the plunge and made an offer!!  One day I was interested in renting and a few days later... I was buying a greenhouse!  We took over mid March 2021.  It was an overwhelming undertaking!  What was I thinking??  I was determined and focused on ALL the possibilities and new dreams to be realized!  These last few seasons have definitely had its fair share of struggles.  Growing in these facilities are SO much different than growing out on the farm!  We have many, many changes in mind, and are now on the verge of some much needed renovations!!  The old girl is in need of a face lift! (the "greenhouse... not me... hmmm... maybe us both!?)  I have learned alot since that February 2021.  Not just about growing in that type of greenhouse environment... but I have learned so much about myself!  I am beyond excited for whats to come and that before long people will be able to stop in and, like the farm, sit, relax, and take a break from the hectic days we call life!
